HUBUNGAN PEMBERIAN REWARD DAN PUNISHMENT DENGAN MOTIVASI BELAJAR PPKN PESERTA DIDIK KELAS V SDN 189 PEKANBARU

Abstract


This study aims to determine whether there is a significant relationship between the provision of rewards and punishments by teachers and the learning motivation in Civics Education (PPKn) among fifth-grade students at SDN 189 Pekanbaru. This research employs a quantitative method with a correlational approach. The population consists of all fifth-grade students, totaling 150 individuals, with a sample of 38 students selected through random sampling. Data collection was carried out using questionnaires with a Likert scale to measure variable X (rewards and punishments) and variable Y (learning motivation). Hypothesis testing was conducted using the Pearson correlation coefficient and the coefficient of determination. The results show a significance value of 0.001 < 0.05, indicating a positive relationship in the moderate category. These findings suggest that the provision of rewards and punishments by teachers contributes significantly to improving students' learning motivation in Civics Education at SDN 189 Pekanbaru.
