MOTIVASI BELAJAR BAHASA MANDARIN PADA MAHASISWA DIPLOMA SEKOLAH TINGGI BAHASA HARAPAN BERSAMA

Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis motivasi belajar mahasiswa jurusan bahasa Mandarin di Sekolah Tinggi Bahasa Harapan Bersama pada angkatan diploma 2025. Penelitian ini mengidentifikasi apakah motivasi belajar didominasi oleh motivasi intrinsik atau ekstrinsik serta faktor yang memengaruhi pemilihan jurusan. Metode yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif deskriptif dengan kuesioner skala Likert lima tingkat. Data diperoleh dari 22 mahasiswa dan dianalisis menggunakan frekuensi, persentase, dan nilai rata-rata. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa motivasi belajar mahasiswa didominasi oleh motivasi intrinsik, ditandai dengan komitmen pribadi, kepuasan terhadap jurusan, dan keinginan memilih kembali jurusan yang sama. Dukungan sosial dan peluang kerja juga berperan positif, sementara tekanan dari pihak luar relatif rendah. Kesimpulannya, motivasi belajar bahasa Mandarin mahasiswa bersifat intrinsik dengan faktor ekstrinsik sebagai pendukung.

ABSTRACT
This study examines the learning motivation of Chinese-major students at Sekolah Tinggi Bahasa Harapan Bersama, focusing on the 2025 diploma cohort. It aims to identify whether students’ motivation is predominantly intrinsic or extrinsic and to explore factors influencing their choice of major. A descriptive quantitative approach was employed using a five-point Likert scale questionnaire. Data were collected from 22 students and analyzed using frequency, percentage, and mean scores. The findings show that students’ motivation is mainly driven by intrinsic factors, reflected in strong personal commitment, satisfaction with their major, and willingness to choose the same major again. Social support and employment prospects also contribute positively, while external pressure from others is relatively low. In conclusion, students’ Chinese learning motivation is primarily intrinsic, with extrinsic factors serving as supportive elements, offering implications for Chinese language education development.
