EFEKTIVITAS PEMANFAATAN SUDUT BACA MENGGUNAKAN BUKU LITERASI BERMUTU DALAM MENINGKATKAN KETERAMPILAN MINAT BACA SISWA KELAS TINGGI (Studi Kasus di UPT SPF SDN 105313 Namo Rumbe Julu)

Abstract


This study aims to examine the use of reading corners with quality literacy that play an important role in improving students' reading skills and interests in the upper grades at UPT SPF SDN 105313 Namo Rube Julu. Reading corners designed with quality literacy materials can create a fun learning environment and encourage students to be more active in reading. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of reading corners in improving students' reading skills through a quality literacy approach. This study uses qualitative research with a descriptive research design and the method used is a case study. The results showed that the use of reading corners with quality literacy books significantly improved the reading skills and interests of upper grade students. Before the intervention, only 40% of students had a high interest in reading and actively visited the reading corner. After of implementing reading corners with interesting reading materials and teacher guidance, the percentage of students who showed interest in reading increased to 85%. In addition, the results of the reading skills test also increased, where students who achieved the good and very good categories increased from 45% to 82%. This increase was due to various factors, such as the provision of books that are appropriate to the level of student development, the creation of a comfortable reading environment, and encouragement from teachers to read regularly. Observations also showed that students discussed the books they read more often, indicating that their understanding of the text also increased. Thus, the study conducted at the UPT SPF SDN 105313 Namo Rube Julu concluded that a well-managed reading corner supported by quality literacy books can effectively improve the interest and reading skills of high-class students.
