IMPLEMENTASI LITERASI BUDAYA SISWA UNTUK MENGEMBANGKAN KETERAMPILAN SOSIAL

Abstract


Cultural literacy refers to the understanding of values, norms, and cultural practices that are integral to social life. In the context of education, cultural literacy plays a significant role in shaping students' character, particularly in developing social skills. This study aims to analyze the implementation of cultural literacy in school environments and its impact on students' social skills. It seeks to describe how cultural literacy is implemented in schools and its contribution to the development of students' social abilities. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach, data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation. The results indicate that activities such as reading folklore, drawing local cultural symbols, and presenting one’s own and others' cultures contribute to the development of social skills such as cooperation, mutual respect, and empathy. The conclusion of this study is that cultural literacy can serve as an effective
strategy for strengthening character education and enhancing students' social skills in school contexts.
