IMPLEMENTASI GERAKAN MEMUNGUT SAMPAH UNTUK MENUMBUHKAN KARAKTER GOTONG ROYONG DAN PEDULI LINGKUNGAN PADA SISWA SEKOLAH DASAR

Abstract


The trash picking movement at SDN Singopadu Sidoarjo was motivated by the fact that some students did not yet have the values of mutual cooperation and environmental care. Based on this problem, the school implemented of the trash picking movement program to foster mutual cooperation and environmental care in students. This study aims to describe the implementation of the trash picking movement to foster mutual cooperation and environmental care in students. The study used a qualitative approach with a case study research type. The subjects of this study were the principal, teachers, and students. Data collection used in-depth interview methods, non-participant observation, and documentation. The data analysis method used the Miles and Huberman interactive model analysis which included three activities that were interactive and continuous, namely data coding, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study showed that the trash picking movement program was carried out routinely every Monday and Friday through mutual cooperation activities to clean the school environment. All school residents were involved in the implementation of the trash picking, sorting, and processing program into creative works. The trash picking movement program tends to be effective in fostering mutual cooperation and environmental care. The role of teachers in the trash picking movement acts as a consistent facilitator, motivator, and director and provides an example. This study proves that the implementation of the trash picking movement can foster student character that is in line with Pancasila values, especially the character values of mutual cooperation and caring for the environment.
