KEGIATAN JURNAL BACA PADA GERAKAN LITERASI SEKOLAH (GLS) SEBAGAI SARANA KETERAMPILAN LITERASI BACA PESERTA DIDIK DI SDN TANAH TINGGI 1

Abstract


This research aims to describe the reading journal activities in the School Literacy Movement (GLS) as a means of developing students' reading literacy skills. The focus of this research begins with the planning, implementation, and results of the reading journal activities in the fifth grade at SDN Tanah Tinggi 1, Tangerang City. The research method uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method, involving the Principal, Class V A Teacher, Class V B Teacher, and students as primary data sources. Data collection techniques include interviews, observations, and documentation. The research results indicate that in the planning process of the reading journal activities at SDN Tanah Tinggi 1, it was carried out systematically through needs identification, goal setting, and teacher training. Meanwhile, the implementation of the reading journal activities includes  three main stage: pre-reading, reading, and post-reading. The research results also show that the application of the readig journal has a positive impact on the literacy skills of fifth-grade students at SDN Tanah Tinggi 1, namely in building reading habits, improving comprehension of reading materials, and honing reading, writing, anf critical thinking skills.
