ANALISIS PROSES PEMBELAJARAN BENTUK BANGUN DATAR PADA SISWA TUNAGRAHITA MELALUI MEDIA GAMBAR BERWARNA

Abstract


. This study analyzes the learning process of flat shapes in mentally retarded students using colored picture media. The main problem raised is the low ability of mentally retarded students aged 17 years at SDN Rancakadu, Sukabumi City in recognizing flat shapes, even though this ability should have been mastered at the age of 3-5 years. The purpose of this study is to describe the learning process, identify factors that influence success, and describe the responses of students and parents to the use of colored picture media in learning flat shapes. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. The subject of the study was one mentally retarded student in grade VI of SDN Rancakadu, Sukabumi City. The research instrument involved the researcher himself as the main tool, supported by observation guides, interviews, and documentation. Data were collected from students and teachers. The results of the study showed that the learning process using colored picture media significantly facilitated the delivery and reception of information. Clear, simple, contrasting, and brightly colored images have proven effective in attracting attention and increasing the understanding of mentally retarded students towards the concept of abstract flat shapes. The use of color also strengthens students' memory. Success factors include the quality of the image media design, consistent, clear, and interactive teacher delivery methods, and support from the principal and parents. This media also helps overcome obstacles such as limited attention span and difficulties in processing abstract information in mentally retarded students. In conclusion, colored image media is an integral component that modifies and adapts the learning process, so that it effectively improves the learning achievements of mentally retarded students in understanding basic geometry concepts.
