ANALISIS PENGGUNAAN STRATEGI PEMBELARAJAN BAHASA MANDARIN DAN PENGARUHNYA TERHADAP NILAI

Abstract


ABSTRAK

Pembelajaran bahasa Mandarin menjadi tantangan bagi siswa karena perbedaan sistem bahasa, terutama dalam pelafalan, kosakata, dan aksara. Kesulitan ini menuntut penggunaan strategi pembelajaran yang tepat agar prestasi murid dapat ditingkatkan. Penelitian ini bertujuan memahami strategi pembelajaran yang digunakan siswa kelas 9 SMP Santu Petrus dan pengaruhnya terhadap nilai. Penelitian menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan analisis SPSS, data penelitian dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner, wawancara, dan studi banding. Hasil menunjukkan strategi sosial adalah yang paling sering digunakan, sedangkan strategi kompensasi paling jarang digunakan. Siswa dengan nilai lebih tinggi cenderung menggunakan lebih banyak strategi belajar. Wawancara mengungkapkan bahwa siswa mengatasi kesulitan dengan Google Translate, menulis berulang, dan menonton film berbahasa Mandarin. Penelitian ini menyarankan siswa dengan nilai rendah memperbanyak penggunaan strategi untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berbahasa Mandarin. Temuan penelitian ini memberi implikasi pada peningkatan efektivitas pembelajaran Mandarin melalui pemilihan strategi pembelajaran yang tepat sesuai dengan karakter siswa.

ABSTRACT

Learning Mandarin presents challenges for students due to differences in the language system, particularly in pronunciation, vocabulary, and characters. These difficulties require the use of appropriate learning strategies to improve students’ academic performance. This study aims to understand the learning strategies used by 9th-grade students at SMP Santu Petrus and their effect on academic achievement. The study employed a quantitative method with data analysis using SPSS, and data were collected through questionnaires, interviews, and comparative studies. The results show that social strategies are the most frequently used, while compensation strategies are the least employed. High-achieving students tend to use more learning strategies. Interviews revealed that students address difficulties by using Google Translate, writing repeatedly, and watching Mandarin-language films. The study suggests that lower-achieving students increase the use of strategies to enhance their Mandarin proficiency. The findings have implications for improving the effectiveness of Mandarin learning through the selection of strategies tailored to students’ individual characteristics.
