Abstract

ABSTRACT

This study aims to explore the use of Generative AI Tools in improving students' research planning skills in the Educational Research Methods course. Using a qualitative approach with a classroom-based research design, data were obtained through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, then analyzed thematically using the Miles & Huberman model. The results showed that the majority of students experienced increased research literacy and academic ethics awareness after participating in reflective mentoring with the help of AI. Students not only used AI to accelerate writing but also to structure ideas, build arguments, and reflect on scientific thinking logic. These findings confirm that AI plays a role as a cognitive partner that supports human-machine collaboration ethically and contextually. This study recommends the need to strengthen the AI Literacy Framework in higher education to ensure the integration of reflective, collaborative, and academic integrity-oriented AI.
